About the role
Matrix Providers is hiring a Medical Office Secretary- NICU to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), 8901 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD.
- Employment Status: Full-time
- Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 22:45-07:15

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: Must have High School diploma or General Educational Development GED) equivalency
- Experience: Must have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with standard office administrative functions with excellent verbal and writing skills.
Core Duties:
- Transcribe physician orders involving patient activities, diets, tests and medications.
- Transfer orders on a timely basis to various records in accordance with departmental and
- directorate policies.
- Complete request forms for individual patient orders for special blood work, x-rays, radiation therapy, diets, clinic appointments, respiratory and ventilator care, consults and other requests as may be deemed necessary.
- Answer the telephone, record and relay messages and/or redirect calls as necessary.
- Record telephone messages pertaining to such things as detailed laboratory reports, x-rays, and test results, recognize and refer urgent issues to appropriate professional staff for immediate action.
- File results of various tests in patients' charts for professional staff's reference, keeping current and accurate records of care.
- Enter and/or retrieve data from (MHS Genesis) formally known as the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) as appropriate to the area assigned.
- Maintain all patient records in correct sequential and chronological order with each page
- properly identified.
- Verify and assure that records of patient treatment are complete upon discharge or transfer of patients.
- Provide clerical tasks inherent in the admission and discharge of patients.
