Job Title: Lead Maintenance Tech
Job Summary:
This is a Working Lead position. This Lead Mechanic will have oversight of Maintenance Technicians. Along with oversight of the team and operation this person will be expected to assist in tasks as necessary to ensure daily quotas are met.
This position will interface with the client’s representative as needed for technical information, but is responsible for the operation as a whole.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assigns daily, weekly and monthly tasks to team members
Monitors work activity of team members ensuring safety compliance, quality of work, cleanliness and follow up if required.
Ensures operation adheres to Clients guidelines regarding work flow and material handling.
Assists Site Manger by providing input on hiring, discipline and terminations when required.
Performs duties as a technician as outlined in the Maintenance Tech job description
Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by the site manager and/or Client
Qualifications:
Education
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Business Experience
Five (5) or more year’s related experience
Mechanical Competency
Drawing reading:
· To be able to use drawing packages: both assembly and detail drawings.
· To be able to execute detail drawings for part machining.
Knowledge:
· of technical symbols
· of adjustment qualities (I.e. interference fits)
· of standardization of metals (steel-standard alloy)
· of thermal treatments (hardening - annealing - tempering -carbonization)
· of functional dimensioning
· of surface conditions (Ra)
· Screw/nut systems (threading knowledge).
General technology:
Movement transfer mechanisms:
· Transmission by belt, chain, clutches.
· Fixation by simple assembly (screw, bolts, etc).
· Sealing (lip seals - deflectors - pastes)
· Metrology- measurement apparatus (micrometer-level-rule-gauge block)
· Materials (steel and alloys with their usual thermal treatments)
· Handling/use of slings (respect of consigns)
Theoretical knowledge:
· Simple calculations
· Trigonometric relations.
· Ratio and proportions calculations.
Practical applications:
· Repair following the standard by applying a formalized and rational method, requires little initiative.
· To be able to methodically implement all this knowledge in the shop floor environment.
Handling Competency:
· To identify methods and fixtures for handling of various sub-assemblies. (I.e Mold assembly rod / Clips)
· To be able to safely and carefully handle parts.
· To apply storing and packaging rules of the parts and materials.
· To be able to use a forklift / hoist / overhead crane or specific heavy equipment
Measurement Competency:
· To execute simple measurement operations by applying a work method.
· To verify and regulate, eventually before use, an instrument according to a verification procedure.
· To express a measurement result
Structural Organization Competency:
· To be able to situate himself in his work environment.
· To be able to apply his skills in relation to shop work.
· To be able to comply with a predefined communication protocol - to be informed or to inform.
· Knowledge: structure and mission of the being provided.
· To be able to correspond with the appropriate personnel in the shop domain
· Knowledge: structure, mission of the services being performed
Communication Competency:
· To be able to listen, exchange, converse privately with his colleagues or management, by communicating in a verbal or written way or with the help of supports or structured documents found in Plans, Diagrams , Notes, Dossiers - in order to understand or be understood.
