The purpose of the Senior Manager, Regional Accounts, is to provide leadership and direction for all of the activities within assigned accounts. This position is responsible for penetrating strategic accounts and developing long term strategic relationships with key account stakeholders and implementing brand tactics to ensure successful branded product formulary placement, and uptake at targeted accounts. This position is responsible for the effective communication of product formulary placement, and access criteria to key internal stakeholders.
This territory covers the South Central United States (MO, AR, TN, AL, LA, MS, southeast TX, southern IL and eastern KS). The ideal candidates must live within reasonable distance of the geography.
How you’ll spend your day
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Responsible for analyzing account, and marketplace metrics to ensure a complete understanding of account and marketplace business opportunities and trends, and makes appropriate business recommendations based on the marketplace assessment.
• Effectively implement the brand developed market access strategy with assigned accounts.
• Leads and coordinates internal stakeholders to ensure business opportunities are addressed.
• Participate on brand teams or product launch teams to aid in the development of BU/brand specific payer strategy as needed.
• Interacts with the National Account team to help implement national account initiatives that directly impact key regional downstream customers.
• Works closely with Public Sector team to help implement public sector initiatives that impact assigned state customers.
• Collaborate with Payer Marketing function to share input on the development of appropriate payer marketing materials.
• Responsible for assessing specific account and market trends, be able to synthesize that information to make appropriate contracting recommendations, and effectively negotiating with assigned accounts.
• Considered the local subject matter expert on assigned accounts and is the face of managed care with the field sales organization.
• Strategize, develop, and execute in collaboration with sales to implement pull-through initiatives within assigned geography.
Your experience and qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Advance Business or Pharmacy degree preferred
• Minimum of 7 +years pharmaceutical or industry related experience(i.e. medical technology)
• Minimum of 5+ years Market Access managed care experience, Sales management or B2B equivalent
• Solid understanding of healthcare delivery system including various payer types and economic drivers
• Demonstrated capability in developing strong partnerships and working cross functionally
• Excellent public speaking / presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Experience preferred
• Marketing, Account Management (Trade or Managed Care), or pricing & contracting or marketing support
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Approximately 25% domestic travel throughout the US.
