About the role
<p>The purpose of this role is to Investigate questionable and fraudulent policies, claims and risks. The Investigator will conduct field investigations, including statement taking, to determine the validity of issues in question. Investigations may include, motor accident, motor accident injury, property, liability, and policy matters.</p><p></p><p>In addition, you will prepare investigation files for submission to An Garda Siochana or other authorities and provide witness evidence in both Civil and Criminal Courts.</p><p></p><p>This is a field based role</p><p></p><p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Conduct field investigations:</li><li>Attend scene of accident/incident</li><li>Validate documentation and collection of physical evidence.</li><li>Photograph/video scene, vehicles, documentation</li><li>Establish identity and number of persons involved (including witnesses)</li><li>Prepare preliminary report(s) relating to an accident/incident.</li><li>Conduct in-person interviews and taking of witness statements.</li><li>Adhere to investigation strategy, gather and analyse facts with the objective of building a defendable case.</li><li>Identify leads for each assigned case.</li><li>Assist with existing investigations as required and help to build a defendable case.</li><li>Prepare investigation files for submission to An Garda Siochana</li><li>Attend Court as directed and, if necessary, prepare Aviva witnesses for court appearances</li><li>Identify and forward any intelligence for entry in fraud technology tools.</li><li>Liaise with external experts (fire/motor/motor injury)</li></ul><p></p><p>Skills & Experience required:</p><ul><li>APA in Personal and Commercial General Insurance/CIP Qualified desirable. </li><li>Investigative competency</li><li>Covert surveillance experience</li><li>Proficient organizational skills</li><li>Extensive experience in preparation of investigation files for submission to the police and other authorities</li><li>Strong verbal communication skills</li><li>Exceptional written communication skills including document presentation skills.</li><li>Assertive and comfortable with challenge and ambiguity</li><li>Ability to make confident and objective decisions in matters having high potential for legal precedent.</li><li>Agree to flexibility in work hours, including working evenings/weekends, as required.</li><li>Valid full clean driver’s licence required.</li></ul><p></p><p>Aviva is for Everyone</p><p>Our diversity and inclusion policies and initiatives are shaping an environment where everyone feels welcome regardless of age, disability, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, religion, culture, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, pregnancy, maternity or those with other caring responsibilities. </p><p></p><p>Our approach helps to ensure that Aviva is a place which values difference and provides equal opportunities for all.</p><p></p><p>We flex locations, hours and working patterns to suit our customers, business, and you.</p><p></p><p>Our smart working combines the benefits of flexibility with time together with colleagues.</p><p></p><p>We prefer all applications to be submitted online, however if you require an alternative method of applying please contact Abigail.Aitken@aviva.com</p><p></p>
