We are looking to hire a Senior Director, Human Relations to support our Americas Supply Chain function. This role will be based at McCormick's Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland and will be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program (50% onsite, 50% remote per month).

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director, Human Relations – Americas Supply Chain (SC) provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of HR including employee engagement, employee relations, change management, coaching, talent management and development, succession planning, performance management and organizational design. This individual oversees a team of HRBP leaders supporting the Americas Supply Chain – approximately 4,500 employees across headquarters teams and all manufacturing sites and distribution centers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and El Salvador. The Senior Director will serve as the primary HR partner leader to the Vice President SC Operations Americas and Vice President Global SC Planning & Logistics and will be a member of the Americas Supply Chain Leadership Team representing the HR function. The Senior Director will be a member of the Global Supply Chain HRBP leadership team with colleagues leading HRBP teams across the global end-to-end SC.

 

This position requires strong partnerships across HR Shared Services and Centers of Expertise (CoEs) to ensure alignment of company-wide HR initiatives and business strategies. We are looking for a leader who has superior HR functional expertise, business acumen, and demonstrated experience in building/retaining trust and relationships across the organization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting a dynamic workforce with positive impact.

 

As the “keeper of the culture”, the HR function must combine employee advocacy with a high degree of business understanding and acumen. This individual is responsible for partnering with the business to solve complex organizational challenges, while ensuring we have the right people in the right roles to drive results and grow our business. This role will need to flex from strategic planning to daily support of designated client groups, assessing and anticipating people-related needs, coaching and developing both the business leaders and the HR team leaders, and developing integrated solutions delivering value to stakeholders. The role will have a primary responsibility for translating McCormick’s Global SC Great Place to Work strategy to action within the regional SC organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior HR Business Partner leader for the Americas SC organization and support the aligned Vice President HRBP
  • Lead a team of HR Directors supporting SC senior leadership within the Americas region – building towards greater regional-consistency and aligning HR leadership resources to maximize value across opportunity areas
  • Directly and indirectly manage an organization of approximately 25 HRBPs, ensuring team members are provided with clear expectations and direction and are empowered and held accountable for driving high performance
  • Partner closely with client senior leadership to define and deploy the People strategy
  • In partnership with the COEs, implement talent acquisition, talent management, engagement, recognition and reward, DE&I, organization effectiveness, and learning strategies
  • Deploy practices, programs, and initiatives that create a positive, productive work environment for employees
  • Foster a working environment aligned with McCormick’s shared values, ensuring management and employee relations remain collaborative and supportive
  • Consult on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all employees
  • Oversee labor relations activities within the region
