Job Description Summary
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
- Supervises and coordinates activities and workers engaged in job site area as dictated by plans and any other specific job specifications and regulatory requirements to ensure timely and quality completion of the job.
- Working foreman on projects focusing on Maintenance of Traffic
- Interprets Company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations and procedures
- Interprets plans and specifications for necessary MOT signage and equipment. Placing orders from MOT supplier and calling in pickups in a timely manner.
- Adept/knowledgeable in all aspects of work activities that are being supervised.
- Confers with Operations engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications and coordinating various phases of construction.
- Creates and effectively communicates subcontractor schedules.
- Inspects work in progress, especially for proper MOT compliance; prepares monthly MOT certifications and device counts
- Directs appropriate traffic control methods and techniques wherever necessary
- Ordering off-duty officers to comply with construction schedules
- Act as manager for MOT Supervisors
- Ensure compliance with FDOT lane closure notification applications or systems
- Investigate and document work zone intrusion incidents per Company procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- Able to read and interpret construction plans and understand specifications.
- Current driver’s license
- Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations
- FDOT Advanced TTC Certification
Education/Experience
- High school Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- 5 years of experience in the construction industry along with supervisory experience
- Computer skills helpful
- Ability to do basic math
