Senior Controls Engineer- Buildings

A Controls Engineer is responsible for designing building control systems for new construction as well as retrofit projects.
Your Impact
- Designing new and retrofit HVAC automatic temperature control systems.
- Survey’s, specification writing, drawing development, report writing and the commissioning of installed controls equipment.
- Assisting in construction administration for controls projects, including contractor and client coordination, field operations and punch lists for systems designs
- Participation in design and submittal reviews
- Attendance at client meetings
- Perform other duties as required
- Review and understand task objectives and requirements as communicated by the Project Manager or Project Engineer
- Understand and demonstrate core values
- Enhance the firm’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requests
- Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors
- Updates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations, and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm’s Technical Committee as requested
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 5 plus years of relevant post education experience in controls consulting engineering discipline.
- Experience with instrumentation and HVAC sequence of operations design.
- Prior experience with at least one BMS product line to include application engineering at a minimum.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with management, team members, and field personnel.
- Familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skills
- Possess analytical, persuasive, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to independently accomplish tasks and assignments to meet deadlines with supervision
- Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities
- Ability to travel to client meetings and project sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $87,700- $145,500
