Supplier Quality & Development Director

Job Summary

The Supplier Quality and Development Director is responsible for GKN Aerospace overall supplier quality performance and the development of Supplier Quality standardized processes and competences for GKN Aerospace. This includes leading and develop a highly skilled Supplier Quality and development organization that supports the development of the capability in the sites, regions and global as well as supporting suppliers capability development

The Director is responsible for leading the overall Supplier development activities driving performance improvement in quality, deliver and cost across all sites in close cooperation with the Global Procurement management team to achieve a highly capable supplier base

The Director is responsible for Zero Defect deployment, culture and mindset within Procurement and supply base

To ensure process development is aligned with the overall industry, the Director is involved in industry wide development of quality standards and its deployment as well as internal process development within Engineering, Quality and Design.

Job Responsibilities

• Overall quality performance of the suppliers and supporting the YoY improvement
• Lead supplier development activities
• Develop and manage processes and tools for Supplier Quality Assurance and supporting the deployment and compliance in the regions
• Develop and manage GKN Supplier Quality Assurance requirements
• Develop the SQE competence requirement, qualifications and support training
• Manage and develop Supplier Selection and Evaluation methods from a Quality perspective
• Assign Supplier evaluation leads
• The Director is responsible for Zero Defect deployment, culture and mindset within Procurement and supply base
• Participate in internal and external industry working groups to develop common quality requirements
• Partner the Global procurement management team in defining the vision, strategy, objectives and operational plan and budget for the function to optimize quality, cash flow, profitability and growth
• Creating a “Great place to work” and championing the GKN Aerospace culture principles

Job Qualifications

Required:

 

* More than 10 years’ experience from engineering/operations and experience from procurement and / or Supplier Quality

* More than 8 years experience in Quality or engineering leadership in cooperation with customers and suppliers

* Deep knowledge in Aerospace quality requirements (e.g AS9100, ISO9000, AS9145, customer and regulatory requirements)

* Experience in quality processes within engineering and design

* Possess a comprehensive knowledge in all functional disciplines and be proficient in the fundamentals of process design

* Experience in continuous improvement

Preferred:

• Degree in Engineering
• Previous experience from Supplier Quality positions
• Aerospace experience
