Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon - WA

Dane Street is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to provide Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and medical record reviews. This is an ideal opportunity for a practicing orthopedic surgeon to leverage their clinical expertise in a non-clinical setting by reviewing injury claims and evaluating the medical necessity of treatments based on objective, evidence-based standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medical records and address specific questions posed by clients using evidence-based, client-specific criteria.
• Provide well-reasoned, clearly written reports supported by appropriate medical documentation and clinical guidelines.
• Utilize current national and state guidelines, professional association standards, and peer-reviewed literature to inform objective decisions.
• Avoid relying on small-scale studies, case reports, or anecdotal evidence.
• Submit referenced criteria and supporting documentation with each completed review.
• Complete reviews in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding assigned deadlines.
• Make follow-up calls as required by state regulations or client-specific instructions.
• Maintain current medical licensure, board certification, and all necessary credentials.
• Attend required orientation and training sessions.
• Assist with quality assurance matters, regulatory reviews, complaints, audits, depositions, and court appearances as needed.

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (required)
• Active clinical practice (required)
• Strong familiarity with musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation standards
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and provide objective, high-quality reviews
