JOB SUMMARY:

Ā 

The Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA) assists the Orthopedic surgeons in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. The PA will practice under a supervising physician with responsibilities to include conducting patient evaluations, formulating treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assisting in surgeries, providing patient education, and managing post-operative care. They may also perform procedures like joint injections.

QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION:

  • Certification/degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:

  • Two years of PA experience in a primary care practice, or a relevant specialty practice preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):

  • Current licensure as a PA-C by the State of Vermont.
  • Certifications as an adult or family Physician Assistant by a national organization, which is recognized by the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Qualified to be credentialed by the BMH Medical Staff.
  • Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • DEA license.

OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.
