Clinical Operations and Education Coordinator

LaSante Health Center is seeking a Clinical Operations & Education Coordinator who will be responsible for improving the quality, efficiency, consistency, and professionalism of clinical operations through staff education, workflow development, competency assessment, quality improvement, and daily operational oversight.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coaching and developing clinical staff while actively monitoring patient flow, room utilization, provider support, and compliance with organizational policies.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of the workday on the clinical floor observing staff, identifying workflow inefficiencies, mentoring employees, solving operational problems, and supporting providers to ensure efficient, safe, and patient-centered care.
The position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum three years of ambulatory clinical experience
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, preceptor, or training experience
Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Comfortable learning and utilizing technology to improve clinical operations
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Electronic Medical Records
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health center
Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW)
Lean, Six Sigma, or other workflow improvement experience
Previous responsibility for staff education or competency validation
Clinical Competency Requirements:
The RN Coordinator must be capable of independently performing, teaching, evaluating, and troubleshooting routine clinical duties expected of clinical support staff, including but not limited to:
Patient rooming
Patient intake and history collection
Vital signs
Height, weight, BMI, and growth chart documentation
Vision and hearing screening
Point-of-care testing
Fingerstick testing
Phlebotomy
Venipuncture
Specimen collection and handling
Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
Vaccine administration within scope of practice
Medication administration within scope of practice
Injection techniques
Nebulizer treatments
Urinalysis
Pregnancy testing
Rapid testing (COVID, Influenza, Strep, etc.)
Medical equipment cleaning and disinfection
Instrument processing
Infection prevention and control
OSHA compliance
HIPAA compliance
Emergency response procedures
Clinical documentation within the EMR
Provider assistance during examinations and procedures
Supply management and exam room readiness
The Coordinator must be able to demonstrate these skills, coach staff in their performance, and validate competency.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Education
Develop and maintain standardized training materials for all clinical positions
Create competency checklists for every clinical role
Coordinate onboarding of new clinical employees
Conduct annual competency assessments
Develop standardized workflows across all departments
Provide one-on-one coaching and remediation
Daily Staff Observation
Observe a minimum of two clinical employees each workday.
