Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Patient Registrar.

Responsibilities

Responsible for completing pre-registration and obtaining insurance verification for all appointments for physicians, therapists, and other ancillary services in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures. Will also perform all registration and scheduling tasks when assigned. Also, responsible for assisting the department manager with tasks that are essential for maintaining efficient daily functioning of the Revenue Cycle process.

 

  • Monitors specific queues daily and calls families/guardians to complete pre-registration functions
  • Verifies insurance data for each visit 
  • Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire if a patient is a Medicare beneficiary.
  • Assists in the scheduling and rescheduling of patients

Qualifications

Required:

High School/GED required.

Six months’ scheduling, registration and insurance verification required

Six months’ computer applications required.

Preferred:

Associate’s degree in healthcare preferred
