Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
As an Industrial Engineering Technician at Press-Seal Corporation, you will play a critical role in enhancing manufacturing efficiency and quality. You’ll support the design, development, and optimization of processes and systems, from concept through implementation. This role requires hands-on engagement with equipment, workflow analysis, and data-driven decision-making to meet productivity, quality, and cost goals in alignment with company objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Development and Optimization:
- Design and implement innovative manufacturing processes and workflows.
- Suggest and execute revisions to methods of operation, materials handling, or equipment layout.
- Prepare detailed charts, graphs, and diagrams to support workflow and space utilization improvements.
Data Analysis and Technical Support:
- Analyze production data and conduct statistical studies to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical solutions in support of engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer service needs.
- Recommend changes to production standards to optimize quality and throughput.
Collaboration and Improvement Initiatives:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing outcomes.
- Enact and support systems that drive productivity, safety, quality, and cost improvements.
- Promote positive customer relationships through technical support and innovation.
Testing, Documentation, and Quality Assurance:
- Administer product and process testing, compiling accurate data and actionable insights.
- Maintain accurate product specifications and documentation for current and new processes.
- Interpret technical drawings and standards to assess product and process quality.
Other duties as assigned:
- Support various special projects and contribute to departmental goals as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, innovative, and adaptable mindset.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and APQP methodologies.
- Understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing environments.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Engineering Technology degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process development or manufacturing.
- Experience in rubber/plastic processing is highly desirable.
