Job/Department Summary:
Working under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Recruitment & Communications and work direction of the Lead Admissions Counselor, the incumbent performs moderately complex professional student service work, applying both knowledge and judgment to accomplish tasks. This position requires late night, early morning, and weekend commitments as situations necessitate, and overnight travel.
The ACTI is responsible for performing routine outreach and recruitment activities within a recruitment territory (the boundaries of which may change over time due to demographic changes and strategic shifts) in which they cultivate relationships with prospective students and schools to meet new student enrollment goals. For the purposes of this position description, prospective students are those being recruited to or having applied to attend Chico State for a current or future term who have not yet started classes.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
AND
Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
*A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Preferences:
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Experience working as an admissions counselor or student services advisor in higher education.
- Experience planning and presenting information to large groups, such as orientation and/or outreach events.
Time Base: Full-time
Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm
CSU Classification Salary Range: $60,996 - $86,736 per year.
