AECOM, a Fortune's most admired company, is actively seeking a talented Senior Lead Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Atlanta, GA office. This is an exceptional opportunity to take the lead in designing and managing DOT bridge projects in Georgia and other states across our Southeast Region.
As the Senior Lead Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for spearheading the design effort and project management for a variety of interesting and challenging assignments. Your role will encompass a range of duties, including:
- Acting as the Lead Structural Engineer on projects, reviewing designs and plans to ensure their utmost quality.
- Offering specialized technical input on transportation-related projects, utilizing your expertise to set new industry standards.
- Managing bridge projects, coordinating tasks, and collaborating closely with our talented engineering staff.
- Conducting conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of new bridges, incorporating pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.
- Assessing the condition of existing bridges and formulating effective rehabilitation plans to ensure their longevity and safety.
- Conducting load evaluations of existing bridges, ensuring their compliance with relevant safety standards.
- Exhibiting expertise in preparing technical specifications, design documents, and comprehensive reports.
- Providing exceptional technical engineering support and offering limited inspection during construction phases.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field
- 8 years of related progressive experience designing and delivering bridge projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineering License
- 10 + years of progressive experience designing and delivering bridge projects.
- Bridge rehabilitation design and bridge inspection experience
- Project management skills
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes (AASHTO, GDOT, ACI, AISC, etc.).
- Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools (LEAP Concrete, Midas, CSI Bridge, MDX, AASHTOWare, etc.)
- Project experience on GDOT projects (Georgia Dept. of Transportation)
