ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril’s Manufacturing Team is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer, Factory Design & Integration to join our team. The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, moving ground equipment, sensors, undersea, and flight vehicles, and scaling these products in our new 5M sq ft manufacturing facility, Arsenal-1.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Senior Industrial Engineer, Factory Design & Integration, you will be the connective tissue within the production organization to drive to efficient, on-time production and start up at Arsenal-1. The right person for this role has developed a facility across multiple product lines, groups, or businesses and integrated with both internal and external customers. If you are someone who wants to develop flexible, creative approaches to manufacturing and develop unified solutions for lots of stakeholders then this role is for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create and own manufacturing team’s integrated solution for Arsenal-1 factory layout design keeping lean manufacturing principles, linear flow, and visual management top of mind, including detailed layout alternatives, production flow, space allocation across programs and products, expansion planning, and operating scenarios
- Question requirements in product design, layout design, and facility design to ensure the most cost- and schedule-effective solution for our factories that meets the needs of our products
- Support design, construction, commissioning and start-up of the line(s), material flow, and production support processes at new factory sites, ensuring successful delivery of the factory and products off the line.
- Provide strategic recommendations on product transitions and allocations across sites to optimize manufacturing resources using a data-driven approach. Buy down risk to meet production timelines in new facilities.
- Analyze proposed production improvements based on CapEx, headcount, or process changes, developing cohesive analysis and return on investment studies
- Maintain and understand production capacity plans and constraints across several demand scenarios and several product lines
- Create analytical tools to address delivery, capacity, and cost issues and guide decision-making
- Lead hands-on: set an example and expedite project completion
- Drive collaboration with manufacturing engineering, operations, facilities and construction, environmental safety & health, and finance to deliver creative and effective factory design, as well as external vendors supporting the design, construction, and commissioning of a new facility
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience as program manager for a manufacturing facility or process, industrial engineer, manufacturing engineer, or production/process engineer for hardware products
- Layout development in CAD software for manufacturing processes and facilities, including analysis of layout options against key business priorities
- Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment, next to operations and manufacturing engineering to understand and optimize the production system
- Experience with capacity planning and business operating scenario analysis
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior work with architecture and infrastructure engineering partners and/or general contractors to build, improve or modify production facilities
- Process improvement, including justification of return on investment for process or operational changes
- Application of lean manufacturing and linear flow principles in a production environment
- Automation development for manufacturing processes in assembly, integration, test, and finishing operations
- Ergonomic studies at the work station and work element level
- Experience with leveraging data from M
