Enterprise IT (EIT) is an essential component of the current IT division that provides support to the Pharmaceutical Research (Research and Development Division), Supply Chain (Manufacturing Division), Marketing (Human Health) organizations as well as Enabling Functions. The SAP Platform Team is part of our EIT organization and owns our SAP Global Template asset which enables enterprise-level capabilities through harmonized business processes and data. The team is responsible for the operation of all SAP and integrated solutions, governance of the associated enterprise assets, and cost-effective delivery of capabilities to support achievement of immediate and future state business objectives.

The SAP Material Handling IT Lead will play a critical role in the delivery and global design integrity of the Warehouse Management solutions which includes integration across the SCM team space and with cross - functional ERP team to deliver SAP solutions across the organization.

As the SAP Material Handling IT Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Managing Material Handling solutions through all aspects of the project Software Development Lifecycle, including technical design, solution build, system testing and installation, acceptance, and transitional support to operations.

  • Collaborating with IT Delivery and Business Leaders to design and develop solutions that may require integration across the Manufacturing Team business areas (MH, EHS, & PE).

  • The management of integrated projects can involve various activities, such as enhancing and expanding custom solutions like the SAP TOCS (Time Out of Controlled Storage) system. This system is designed to track and manage the exposure times of sensitive products. In order to effectively implement this solution, collaboration with the company's Manufacturing & Research Global Material Handling steward is important. This collaboration ensures that the supported business processes are identified, and the necessary training is provided to ensure that the solution is used appropriately within its intended scope.

  • Collaborating and partnering with the business MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) team to ensure seamless integration of MES with SAP.  Ensure that the interfaces & solutions support critical Make Team requirements.

  • Collaborating with the extended ERP team on cross functional projects as appropriate.  Relevant projects may include Serialization, Labeling, Research Labs Hana S4 implementation, etc.

  • Influencing individuals across a global matrixed organization (NA, EU, Asia- Pac and LA) to realize the above objectives.

  • Communicating risks, issues, challenges and technical design and build status/progress.  Ensuring issues and risks are tracked and mitigation plans are in place. 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required. Concentration in Computer Science preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT warehouse experience.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of end to end Material Handling processes & integrations.

  • Technical knowledge and experience in SAP; specifically SAP warehouse design and configuration experience.

  • Inventory Management / Warehouse Management solutions experience.

  • Storage Units / Handling Units solutions experience.

  • SAP interface to 3rd party MES systems experience.

  • Automated warehouse interfaces to SAP (MMES)

  • Inner and intra company Sales Transfer Orders.

  • 3PL (3rd party logistics) interfaces.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading the design, configuration, and implementation of large scaled solutions in a matrixed environment

  • Experience in system enhancements, implementations and upgrades

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with both a business and a technical audience

  • The ability to work both independently and effectively as a team across global hubs and maintain a highly collaborative and transparent effort.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with and through others to achieve shared goals

  • Experience working with and managing partners/suppliers and consultants/contractors

  • Aptitude for learning
