The Opportunity

We are seeking an Attorney Development CLE & Training Coordinator to join our Firm.  This position will be based in our Chicago office (hybrid).  The coordinator provides support to the Attorney Development and Recruiting Department, including coordinating attorney training, monitoring and maintaining Illinois CLE database information, attorney credits, CLE rules, regulations and updates, communicating CLE information to attorneys, ensuring Illinois CLE compliance firmwide, and providing  support to Illinois-admitted attorneys.

  • Analyzes and monitors continuing legal education compliance.
  • Advises on Illinois CLE credit.
  • Monitors and maintains Illinois admitted attorney credits.
  • Maintains and updates the CE Manager and PCAM databases with new courses and CLE certificate entries and prepares materials for CLE Trainings.
  • Coordinates and reviews the Illinois CLE year-end accreditation report.
  • Reviews CLE third party certificates of attendance.
  • Monitors attorney training programs, reviews and analyzes attorney training feedback.
  • Responsible for coordinating and administering local and firm-wide training curriculum. Administers Illinois practice group CLE programs.
  • Partners with the Attorney Development and Training teams in New York to plan and implement training and  professional development programs in Chicago including the coordination of the attorney retreats and ACE program.
  • Creates and organizes training schedules for internal programs.
  • Responsible for Chicago program email invitations and maintaining the attorney attendance for firm training programs.
  • Updates online Training Calendars, inputs training information into the Attorney Learning Site, assists with maintaining and updating the site for Chicago dates/programs.
  • Prepares monthly bar status report and forwards to NY office.
  • Tracks attorney bar admission renewals.
  • Coordinates annual attorney ARDC registration renewals.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
  • Regular and reliable physical presence.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, CE Manager, PCAM database, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software  (e.g., LawCruit, Symplicity) and operating systems

  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrates close attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities

  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team

  • Flexibility to travel

  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs (e.g., attend evening events, sometimes with short notice and with increased frequency during peak periods of the recruiting cycle)

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of two year's attorney development experience in a law firm or rela
