Education:
Master’s degree in medical physics /or postdoctoral training in radiologic physics.
Licensures/Certifications:
Certified or certification eligible by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Physics preferred.
Experience:
Experience in a similar clinical setting.
Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of principles, methods and techniques of Clinical Medical Physics applicable primarily to Radiation Oncology including tumor localization, treatment planning, computerized dose calculation, anatomy and physiology, radiobiology, patient care and the operation of therapeutic radiologic
• Skill in using computer and a variety of personal productivity applications.

Patient Population:
Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and applies the knowledge to meet age-specific needs if applicable.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in the Department’s continuous quality improvement activities utilizing methods that enhance compliance with standards, meets or exceeds external benchmarks and foster a cooperative and collaborative working environment.
• Participates in dosimetry calculations and treatment planning.
• Participates in all aspects of physics quality assurance programs.
• Assists in measuring radiation beam characteristics, equipment calibration and related activities.
• Performs complex treatment plans including but not limited to IMRT and HDR
• Participates in weekly chart review.
• Assists in maintaining all policies, procedures and systems in compliance with relevant regulatory agencies as evidenced by lack of citations/recommendations.
• Maintains on-going interventions with physics staff and physicians to assess the care provided and the capability of the staff to render the care in a dynamic environment.
