The Program Director will develop, support, and manage the Cane Commitment initiative. Cane Commitment aligns and showcases competency development and experiences that University of Miami (UM) undergraduate students acquire in and outside of the classroom, ensuring that UM graduates are prepared to succeed in the dynamic workplace and diverse society of today and tomorrow.
The Program Director will lead and manage the Cane Commitment for undergraduate students including, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Work closely with IT resources to inform the implementation, roll out and strategic direction of the University’s micro-credentialing system.
Regularly engage with the IT resources to ensure ongoing maintenance, useability, and efficiency of the University’s micro-credentialing system.
Work together with IT resources to create training and onboarding resources for faculty, students, and staff.
Engage in vendor resources, and train users on the University’s micro-credentialing system.
Collaborate with the Dean of Undergraduate Affairs and key stakeholders to formulate and implement short – and long-term program goals and objectives.
Define standards and outcomes for Cane Commitment efforts.
Establish administrative policies and procedures.
Identify and develop curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular engagement opportunities for a diverse undergraduate student population. Provide strategic direction to cultivate competency development across campus.
Develop and coordinate marketing strategies, including website, events, activities, and presentations to encourage awareness, utilization, and to facilitate a cohesive integration into the UM faculty, staff, and student culture.
Engage faculty, staff, student leaders, student organizations as well as academic units and student affairs departments across campus.
Work with IT resources and key stakeholders to identify available data and leverage for program success.
Continually evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements or changes.
Participate in departmental planning and campus committees as appropriate.
Oversee creation and distribution of assessment reports of student and institution level outcomes for Cane Commitment program.
Leadership:
Supervise, monitor, train, and evaluate program student workers.
Oversee the operational project budget.
Contribute toward creating a positive and respectful workplace defined by personal and professional competence, integrity, and collaboration.
Model the University’s core mission, DIRECCT values and service standards and leadership expectations.
Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum seven years of relevant experience in programmatic administration, academic research, and/or student support.
Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered.
Experience in higher education.
Salary range:
$66,363 to $75,000
