Account Executive – Technology Public Relations

LOCATION: The Public Relations Account Executive will be based in our New York, NY office in our East Coast Tech PR Practice.  This is a full-time, direct hire, hybrid work schedule role working 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely from home each week.  

Qualified PR Account Executive applicants will have 2+ years of prior PR agency experience (at PR AAE level or above) working with technology B2B or B2C clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the leadership of the Tech PR Practice management team to execute multiple concurrent public relations account strategies and programs for our clients.
  • Participate in the development and execution of creative, strategic client public relations programs and campaigns, including assisting with budget and KPI tracking.
  • Implement core PR campaigns - planning, media strategy/pitching, event management, social media, industry analyst relations, content writing/editing, research, and account administration.
  • Execute strong media relations campaigns while motivating and mentoring department junior public relation staff on best practices for storytelling techniques, expert positioning, and reactive media relations.  Support the department’s PR SAE and PR Account Supervisor by helping to ensure that the team is securing local, national, and trade media placements and is proactively researching and pitching compelling story angles.
  • Draft content, including client-ready documents, strategies, and other communication (pitches, bylined articles, blogs, bios, press materials, and meeting reports). 
  • Create weekly, biweekly, and monthly verbal and written client reporting, and submit reports to senior team members for review and approval.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • 2 years of prior PR agency experience at a PR AAE or AC level or above, working with B2B technology clients.
  • Experience working with traditional and social media strategies and campaigns.
     
  • Mastery of basic project management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
     
  • Possesses strong media relations strategy and storytelling skills.
     
  • Crafts compelling messages that drive business goals and elevate client programs; is a refined communicator.
     
  • Generates grammatically sound, client-ready communication as a skilled writer and editor.
     
  • Has ability to lead and drive high-level thinking among junior public relations staff to ensure a full pipeline of top-tier, trend, and feature stories.
     
  • Displays compassionate and inspiring mentorship skills of junior-level staff.
     
  • Advises and drives results that effectively meet internal and external needs and exceed client expectations.
