Position Summary:

Gas Workstream Program leaders are responsible for one or more groups of projects necessary for the maintenance and operations of gas facilities. They lead teams of project services coworkers and oversee matrixed teams who support these projects. Work groups may consist of regular employees and contractors.  These leaders manage work from inception through completion while meeting the cost, scope, and schedule requirements, leveraging the skills and experience of a diverse team to focus on the successful delivery of capital and expense projects. The leaders promote a safety culture and ensure all staff adhere to all company and regulatory safety practices and policies. They contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability, and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles.

•Travel is required for meetings and visits to employees and projects in the field.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​136,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​232,000.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

•Leads matrixed support teams to execute program and project work for the Gas Transmission organization.

•Works with Engineering and the support teams to develop and define the annual scope of work and objectives and build annual and monthly performance measurements to track progress.

•Holds support teams accountable to work performance.

•Manages the portfolio of projects to deliver on time and within budget, safely. Manage and recommend release of contingency as needed.

•Provides effective leadership, coaching and development of employees through goal setting and the performance evaluation process, development planning process, and providing frequent, open and honest feedback.

•Develops and updates quality standards, monitors quality, identifies issues and recommends improvements.

•Performs business process improvement activities in support of the business, including process mapping and re-design.

•Arbitrates and resolves conflicts as needed to support successful project delivery.

•Implements established policies, procedures and best project management practices across the workstream to ensure high quality, consistent project performance such that projects are built to scope and specification requirements, on time and within budget. This includes, but is not limited to, approval process, change control process, design review standards and communication protocol.

•Ensures that all workstream team members are adhering to PG&E policies and procedures.

•Communicates issues up the management chain as needed.

•Makes presentations to PG&E leaders, including officers, as appropriate.

•Supports the local Project Standards and Governance organization to ensure

compliance with California Public Utility Commission (CPUC), Department of

Transportation (DOT) and PG&E standards.

•Manages recruitment, interviewing and hiring of high-quality employees.

•Responsible for managing a team up to 40+ coworkers, including supervisors, project managers, program managers and project control analysts.

•Develops and manages resources to execute program and projects for the workstream.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent experience.

•8 years of gas or related industry experience.
