The DET program office Project Leader will build, lead and plan the work with Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) teams to achieve the vision of a fully digital engineered Space Force. Specifically, this position will support the Warfighter Integration Office (WIO). The WIO delivers synchronization to gain and maintain unity-of-effort by being directly engaged with combatant commands This is a cross-cutting opportunity to significantly influence how the Space Systems Center and USSF conduct and perform the business of space systems acquisition!

Work Model

This is an on-site role based in El Segundo, California.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work with the SSIO warfighter integration office (WIO) and the analysis team to develop wargaming tutorials and interactive game-play sessions for government personnel
  • Work with the SSIO warfighter integration office (WIO), analysis, and digital engineering teams to generate digital CONOPS models for wargaming exercises
  • Improve its interfaces between MBSE/DE and analysis tools, modeling of operational mission threads, and technical assessment of space domain awareness (SDA) and space control systems
  • Interact with Aerospace, SETA, and government staff to define and lead analyses in support of WIO
  • Identify, develop and recommend needs for USSF component operational processes
  • Support planning and execution of space play in theater/command/component exercises and wargames
  • Lead ETG teams in the development of M&S capabilities to support the WIO
  • Synchronize Unity of Effort between Space Systems Command and the Combatant Commands
  • Infuse space capabilities into ongoing wargames delivering direct feedback to emerging developmental programs to meet warfighter needs
  • Provide and lead subject matter expertise on space integrated, multi-domain system of system capabilities
  • Facilitate transition of innovative capabilities to create strategic operational effects in support of the Combatant Commands’ mission and priorities
  • Advocate for Combatant Command requirements to enable the acceleration of technology and concepts that enable rapidly fielded solutions

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical field
  • 8 years relevant dynamic work experience in systems analysis, systems architecture, systems integration and/or systems engineering
  • Experience in performing space architecture trade studies
  • Proven systems engineering skills and the ability to perform element/functional decomposition and define interfaces for large enterprises
  • Experience with model-based system engineering (MBSE) tools and data ontologies/standards
  • Familiarity with the DoD systems acquisition process including major milestones, phases, and decision points
  • Broad familiarity with the DoD, Space Systems Command, Intelligence Community, Civil, and commercial space systems, ground systems, missions, and architectures
  • High interest, enthusiasm, and motivation in addressing future national space security challenges.
  • Willingness to work in high pace environment and lead teams with diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Some travel may be required
  • This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by US government. US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. n

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Advanced Degree in STEM Field
  • Experience with digital engineering implementation with a government customer
  • Proficiency with data and tool integration/interoperability, cloud-based technologies (e.g., web-based API development) and collaboration environments (e.g., the Atlassian suite)
  • Small team leadership experience
  • Technical achievement in concept exploration, analysis, architecting, or prototyping, demonstration, and program planning
  • Involvement with USSF or other D
