Key responsibilities
Leads a team of three financial and accounting analysts and manages the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, calculation and monitoring of provisions, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
Act as liaison with Accounting Shared Services Finance for the monitoring of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activity and the posting of accounting entries.
Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the business.
Regularly review internal controls & ensure business compliance with SOX.
Work with Audit, Tax and Treasury Management to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities through annual report.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Act as business partner and provide financial and accounting advice to cross functional teams, i.e., operations, supply chain and logistics, sales management, customer service, plant management and others as needed.
Responsible for accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has authority over classification and booking of all transactions.
Analyze the effect of accounting practices and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.
Manage the finance team and ensure correct cover is in place in periods of absence/succession planning where required.
Perform financial or accounting analysis and ad hoc projects as needed.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Master's degree or CPA qualification is a plus.
10+ years of experience in an accounting leadership role with direct reports
Automotive and aftermarket work experience is desired.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, and accounting principles
Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and communication (written & verbal) skills.
Strong initiative to improve processes and gain efficiencies while maintaining objectives.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint – SAP and OneStream preferred.
Ability to work in a fast moving, dynamic team environment.
