About the role
General Description:Production Planning and Control is a key function to help and support our diverse research and development portfolio. PP&C plans when, how much, where and in what order parts are produced. To improve our research and production chain, PP&C intelligently flows raw and piece parts to the production line while managing stock accurately. Using data-based decision making, PP&C interacts closely with other departments, such as engineering, technical leads, supplier management, and program management to prioritize production.
Essential Duties:Creating forecasts for material requirements, based on firm or planned demand.Cross referencing master schedules for demonstration, development and delivery programs.Strategic planning for materials and goods, for example planning for logistics of goods shipping and the receipt of incoming materials.Production planning by collaborating closely with inventory control and material expeditors in accordance with the IPT project plans.Detailing production scheduling by defining sequence of activities, such as managing parts, components at a wide range of internal and external suppliers.Addressing risk and issues at suppliers and developing agile plans and schedules to address these issues. Daily and weekly reporting on production status at suppliers to program management.Monitoring PP&C metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
Required Skills:Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment (preferably aerospace)Related experience in material handling, control systems and Enterprise. Resource Systems, preferably Alchemy and CostpointExperience in lean manufacturingKnowledge of production processes and quality controlMath and analytical skillsTechnical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling softwareStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employeesOrganizational and time-management skillsDemonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to interface and influence at all levels of a program and organizationStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to thrive in a deadline-oriented environmentDisplays exemplary ethics and business conduct, and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
Required Education:Minimum Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Special Requirements:This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen. An active TS/SCI with Full Scope polygraph is strongly preferred.
Compensation:The base salary range for this full-time position is $82,400 - $103,053 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
