Senior Operations Core Project Lead

The Project Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
Program Leadership:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders, offering advice on technology and operational solutions.
- Lead projects through their lifecycle, ensuring execution aligns with milestones, budget, and scope.
- Develop comprehensive project documentation, including charters, plans, and issue logs.
Agile Transformation & Delivery:
- Support initiatives within the Agile Release Train (ART), aligning with ART Vision and Roadmaps.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define, refine, and prioritize Epics with clear value and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in PI Planning, PO Sync, and System Demos to track progress, remove impediments, and validate functionality.
- Engage in Inspect and Adapt workshops to drive continuous improvement.
Operational Readiness & Commercialization:
- Review Epics with Product and Operations teams to assess impacts and align with the Target Operating Model.
- Support the prioritization of the Operations 'Book of Work' for technology intake requests.
- Coordinate with Product Managers and Tech Teams on functionality dependencies and pilot needs.
- Define, document, and monitor operational readiness criteria for product launches and coordinate training development for internal teams
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Verification Testing (PVT).
Stakeholder Management & Risk:
- Identify and engage stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project scope and milestones.
- Apply strong communication and diplomacy to influence internal stakeholders and colleagues.
- Rigorously assess and escalate project and operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and safeguarding the firm's reputation
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years relevant experience
- Prior industry experience.
- Fully knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of a product or process; Basic understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics ; Individual is expected to be subject area expert in one (or more) specific skill sets
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
