Tasks

▪ Be comfortable with novel problems; be willing to approach data questions with an experimental mindset
▪ Identify appropriate datasets and drive annotation, linkage, and data schema creation in concert with others developing machine learning techniques
▪ Develop (together with relevant expert talents) and maintain machine learning applications and products that rely on data backends
▪ Be open minded and creative to solve problems via consolidation and ingestion of data coming from multiple organizations and sources
▪ Translate and communicate technical concepts and solutions to different stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, or related field.

At least three years of experience as an engineer; 5+ if highest education is a bachelor’s degree

▪ Familiarity with streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)

▪ Experience with cloud systems and tools focused on Data Engineering (Azure preferrable) like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks.

▪ Understanding of data relevant technologies and programming languages (Elasticsearch, Redis,PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Python, Docker, etc.)

Knowledge of various data formats, their benefits and drawbacks, and when to use each one (JSON, CSV,Apache Arow, Parquet, etc.)

▪ Ability to write clean code using version control and code review practices to maintain and deploy data pipelines (GIT, CI/CD).

▪ Fluency in English is required, any additional language skills are an asset (like Portuguese)
