Who will you be working with?

Wabtec’s Train Management and Dispatching System (TMDS) it is an integrated dispatch control solution that brings together multiple dispatching functions for Centralized Traffic Control (CTC), Track Warrant Control (TWC), Dark Territory (DT), and Positive Train Control (PTC) into one system for efficient train management. TMDS utilizes commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software to create a system that is straightforward to operate and maintain. You will be one of the Software engineers joining the project teams consisting of software developers and testers. You will work very closely with the TCOS Engineering Manager, Principal and Senior Software Engineer, Release Engineer, Product Owners, and System Engineers. You will work in a fast-paced Agile team and be responsible for developing and testing software solutions for new functionality, remediating defects in existing functionality, and documenting problem statements and solutions. The software you develop will be destined for deployment in a hybrid / cloud-optimized environment. You will develop services for legacy and cloud-optimized architectures using .Net or similar software development techniques.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Wabtec Train Control Office Systems (TCOS ) group/division, you will be responsible for

  • Designing, implementing, and testing modules/services for TMDS using the .Net framework or similar.

  • Writing code that meets Wabtec standards, participating in peer code review, and demonstrating solutions to all stakeholders.

  • Documenting existing systems, proposed solutions and test-driven use cases.

  • Understanding performance parameters and improving application performance.

  • Play a critical role in integrating all the different technical aspects of TMDS to ensure all teams are following the same standards and we are building a highly available, reliable, and scalable Hybrid application.

What do we want to know about you?

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Engineering, or a closely related field of study

  • 5+ Years of experience developing enterprise-level applications using .Net Framework.

  • Hands-on experience in .Net programming, building, and developing microservices in a hybrid legacy / cloud optimized environment (.Net Core, Node JS, C++).

We would love it if you had:

  • Strong CI/CD experience, data serialization using JSon, Avro or similar.

  • Messages and event services: Rest, SQL, NO SQL DB (Redis or Similar), Messaging System (Rabbit MQ / AMQP or Similar)

  • Experience in container technology, database schema changes using Jenkin or similar.

  • Strong security background and experience with Authentication/Authorization using Open ID Connect (OIDC) or similar.

  • Experience with Static Code Analysis tools like Synopsis, SonarQube or similar.
