The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and dedicated licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home a 120-bed skilled nursing facility that is home to those who serviced our country.  Our skilled nursing facility boasts a loyal team of long-term employees and a fantastic work culture.

Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program

The FDVA State Veterans’ Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

• From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000.00 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.
• Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.
• Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a current FDVA employee.
• Must possess valid licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and have excellent communication skills.
• Must have the ability to problem solve and prioritize.
• Must have above-average computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess a current CPR/BLS certification.
• Must be willing and able to communicate in English: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Understanding.
• Must be willing and able to work after hours and/or on weekends, for planned or emergency situations.
• Must have at least (4) four years of professional nursing experience, with at least one of those years working in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
• Must successfully complete the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background check and drug test.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Supervisory experience in a long-term care facility or skilled nursing facility.
• Knowledge and experience with state and federal regulations.
