Raytheon’s Air and Space Defense Systems (ASDS) business is seeking an Associate Director, Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) – Strategic Strike Systems to lead business development efforts in critical growth segments for ASDS in support of our nation’s top priority. As the responsible authority, this position interfaces directly with the Program Executive Office, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (PEO AFNWC) and it’s subordinate organizations requiring knowledge of the customer’s organization, portfolio, processes, and supporting major command (MAJCOM). As a member of the ASDS R&C team, the Associate Director will be responsible for driving early engagement with customers, translating mission requirements into actionable strategies, and influencing program development and investment decisions. This role demands strong technical acumen in Air Force Global Strike (AFGSC) and US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) mission areas, deep market insight, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, program management, and strategy teams to position Raytheon for long-term success in a rapidly evolving threat environment. Additionally, the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders is crucial.
What You Will Do
- Build and sustain deep customer intimacy with the DoD customer and other government agencies, maintaining awareness of their evolving mission needs, strategic objectives, and satisfaction with Raytheon’s solutions
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s budget landscape, long-term investment priorities, and acquisition strategies—translating insights into actionable guidance for Raytheon
- Guide and support RTX and Raytheon teams in solving complex customer challenges, facilitating timely and impactful solutions that strengthen mission trust and deepen partnerships
- Business Capture Strategies and Pipeline Development: Develop and implement creative and effective business capture strategies tailored to Global Strike Command’s unique requirements and goals including growth pipeline development
- Drive disciplined Business Development processes across the team, ensuring effective execution of opportunity identification, shaping, and pipeline management, while leading or supporting gates, milestone reviews and color team reviews
- Oversee the development of high-quality customer briefings, capture strategies, proposals, and related artifacts to ensure alignment with customer needs, competitive positioning, and Raytheon strategy
- Capture Management: Manage multiple captures simultaneously, ensuring all capture gates and plan deliverables are delivered on time, within scope and budget
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams located in various geographic locations.
- Stakeholder Influence: Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate collaboration and consensus across different teams and departments
- Strategic Development: Contribute to the strategic planning and development of programs that align with Army Aviation’s and the Fires community of stakeholders on current and future needs
- Provide insights and recommendations based on extensive industry knowledge and customer requirements
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the R&C function, leveraging metrics and feedback loops to enhance efficiency, proposal quality, and customer engagement
- Collaborate with RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) at the Federal, State/Local on Public Policy in their advocation and development of new technologies and our solutions
- Travel: 25% domestic
