Job Title: Director, Financial Reporting
Summary/Objective:
Centersquare is seeking a Director, Financial Reporting, who will bring operational excellence to general ledger accounting, reporting, and analytics. This will initially be an individual contributor role that owns all US GAAP, IFRS, debt compliance, statutory financial reporting processes, and private equity reporting, as well as a leader for financial close, consolidation, and variance analysis. This individual will be a critical member of the Centersquare Finance organization and is expected to develop strong working relationships within Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Shared Services.
Essential Functions
- Manage all aspects of financial reporting statements, processes, and controls for management and investor reporting, including quarterly Hyperion uploads.
- Extend the current process of reporting into an automated application that will be utilized for all aspects of reporting including US GAAP audited financial statements, IFRS SEC-level financial information, bank compliance reporting, and audited statutory financial statements.
- Partner with FP&A to ensure that all actual results for applicable reporting periods are in alignment with FP&A reporting requirements, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
- Execute required top-side consolidation and IFRS-adjusting journal entries, perform internal controls such as reviews and reconciliations, and complete account and foreign currency (Fx) analyses and rate table updates
- Create all GAAP financial statement reporting packages for applicable lender reporting requirements, which span multiple legal entities
- Prepare monthly financial reports to support the business (consolidated and Company-specific balance sheets, consolidated/consolidating income statements, cash flow, and equity reports)
- Understand and add value to Centersquare’s management reporting for reportable segments, business units, and various cost centers.
- Ensure the chart of accounts and business hierarchies support business requirements and stay updated in financial schedules.
- Analyze month-end financial results, provide variance analysis, research financial fluctuations and/or questions, and ensure transparency.
- Evolve the financial reporting process as the company continues to grow.
- Preparation of ad hoc analysis and reporting on a regular basis.
- Assist with the assessment, management, and enhancement of the financial control environment in coordination with Centersquare’s SOX team.
- Supervise, coach and train direct reports, colleagues, or contractors as assigned.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by department leadership or other stakeholders.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Extensive experience in US GAAP and IFRS footnote research and preparation for complex areas including ASC 842, ASC 606, ASC 805 business combinations, pensions, derivative accounting, and taxes.
- 8+ years of experience in progressive general ledger and reporting roles; public accounting experience is a plus.
- Experience with SEC reporting.
Essential Skills
- Technology industry experience is preferred.
- Experience and understanding of foreign currency transactions, cost sharing, IFRS standards, and translation accounting.
- Experience working with multinational entities and related transfer pricing, master service agreement (MSA) allocated fees, or other international tax processes.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting footnotes and proactively providing status updates.
- Adapting to fast-paced, changing environment and technology.
- Capability to work for extended periods to meet key deadlines on unique projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as part of a high-performance team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; devotion to accuracy and data integrity.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite / SharePoint, or related software.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with large ERP and reporting systems (Oracle Fusion, NetSuite, or Hyperion a plus).
- Knowledge and experience in US GAAP including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and cash flows; knowledge of IFRS reporting.
