The Wind &amp; Site team is responsible for performing wind resource analyses, designing wind farm layouts, and carrying out energy yield assessments for on- and offshore wind energy projects worldwide in Statkraft from early phase development up to investment decisions. The team consists of highly competent experts in different Statkraft office locations in Europe. This role is to be based in Madrid, while being part of a global team of Wind &amp; Site analysts. </p><p>As a Senior Wind Resource Specialist your main responsibilities will be: </p><ul><li><p>Perform as an expert in wind resource analysis on new wind energy projects. </p></li><li><p>Take active part in the cross-disciplinary efforts of designing and optimizing wind farm layouts within relevant constraints. </p></li><li><p>Responsible for carrying out energy yield assessments. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Assist with analyses in due diligence and acquisition processes. </p></li><li><p>Responsible for the design of wind measurement campaigns and engaging in the monitoring of the measurements. </p></li><li><p>Procure consultancy services to support your own analyses. </p></li><li><p>Verify, and, if applicable, challenge the external consultants on their methodologies. </p></li><li><p>Contribute to the R&amp;D activities the department is engaged in. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Work closely with the project development teams. </p></li><li><p>Cooperate with technical experts on the suitability of turbines for particular sites with regards to the meteorological site conditions and on other technical aspects of relevance for the layout. </p></li><li><p>Cooperate with the LCoE (levelized cost of energy) function to optimize projects across production and costs. </p></li><li><p>The focus will be on performing the above tasks for the Italian wind projects, while being a part of a global team of Wind &amp; Site analysts. </p></li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li><p>Master’s degree (or PhD) in engineering (with relevant specialization, such as aerodynamics, meteorology, physics or another relevant field). </p></li><li><p>Solid experience with similar tasks (5 years). </p></li><li><p>Extensive experience in modeling and analyzing wind resources and site conditions for wind farms. </p></li><li><p>Experience with WindSim, WindPro, Wasp or other wind energy modelling tools is required. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience with programming is an advantage (Python and Excel VBA). </p></li><li><p>Understanding of measurement techniques relevant for the wind energy industry. </p></li><li><p>Proactive and solution-oriented, a practical doer who delivers results of high quality on time. </p></li><li><p>Strong analytical skills, organization, and time management skills, with a proven ability to work to deadlines. </p></li><li><p>Availability to perform site visits in Spain. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish. </p></li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p><strong>Statkraft's vision is to renew the way the world is powered.
