Dematic is looking for a Software Development Intern in the Grand Rapids, MI area (with other locations negotiable) to be part of the Operations Optimization team. The mission of the Operations Optimization team is to ensure automation solution performance via the design of highly optimized systems based on data-driven simulation modeling and advanced algorithm development.  This position will support the development of a cloud-native digital twin platform that will provide simulation-as-a-service capability to solution development teams that design automation systems for Dematic customers.

Tasks and Qualifications:

As a Software Development Intern at Dematic, you will have the chance to:

What we're looking for:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program in Computer Science, or a related field

• Passion for software development and eagerness to learn

• Familiarity with at least one high-level programming language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Golang, Rust, etc.)

• Solid foundation in object-oriented design principles, algorithms, and data structures

• Understanding of threading and concurrency concepts and their practical application in code

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A positive attitude and a good sense of humor

• Exposure to SQL databases and software testing tools is a plus

• Familiarity with software development tools and environments such as IntelliJ, PyCharm, and Git is also a plus
