The Director, Strategic Planning is responsible for managing strategy cycles and ensuring alignment between financial modeling, pricing strategies, and initiative execution. This role involves developing and tracking strategic priorities and milestones, leading financial and scenario modeling efforts, evaluating pricing models and optimization tools, and supporting acquisitions due diligence and business case reviews.
What You Will Do:
- Manage strategy cycles to ensure alignment between financial modeling, pricing strategies, and initiative execution.
- Develop and track strategic priorities and milestones to ensure progress and alignment with business goals.
- Lead financial and scenario modeling efforts to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate pricing models and optimization tools to enhance profitability and market positioning.
- Support M&A due diligence and business case reviews to identify opportunities and risks.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Analyze data and generate reports to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and insights for strategic planning.
- Continuously seek ways to improve strategic planning processes and tools.
- Communicate findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- 7–10 years in market intelligence, analytics, consulting, or similar leadership role. Proficiency in visualization tools, modeling, and project management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, MBA or equivalent preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in analytics, financial and scenario modeling, and pricing strategies.
- Strong understanding of strategic planning processes and methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced data analysis skills to interpret complex data and generate insights.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in analysis and reporting.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Familiarity with Classification societies, maritime transportation, ABS, ABS Group, and Wavesight is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to the VP, Strategic Planning or Executive-Level Manager. This position will have direct reports.
