Community Liaison (Field Based)

ERM is hiring a Community Liaison in regionally in the Albany, NY area. This position engages directly with clients, consultants, and community members on a regular basis to assist a regional utility client by facilitating direct customer engagement and meetings with local authorities and community members. This is a part-time (16+ hours a week), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, potentially extendable.
Specific Responsibilities
- Serves as a point of contact for the public.
- Attends and facilitates local site visits and stakeholder meetings.
- Leads direct customer engagement (phone, email, in-person).
- Responds to customer inquiries.
- Supports implementation of communication plan and public engagement strategy.
- Attends internal project team meetings as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of project and/or corporate communications, public affairs, community relations, or local community involvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs or similar with relevant field experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, note taking and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities, synthesize ideas, plan strategically, and implement actions
- Willingness to travel regionally up to 80% with overnight stay.

- Previous experience with electric, gas, water or other utility company or client is preferred.
Pay Transparency:
For the Community Liaison position, we anticipate an annual base pay of $74,828- $94,301, $35.97 –$45.33/hr USD, limited-term, non-exempt. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).
