About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer within the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) Operations Control organization.  The candidate will provide leadership and support for WIM Operations business leaders to ensure appropriate development and execution of controls, consultation to recommend process improvement and risk mitigation, and execution of RCSA and Issue Management program activities.  The candidate will effectively partner with key stakeholders, including Independent Risk Management, Central Control Management and Audit, to ensure adherence to program and policy requirements.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and subject matter expertise within our Control team supporting WIM Operations, with a focus of ensuring execution of and adherence to RCSA and Issue Management program requirements.

  • Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines.

  • Lead complex initiatives, manage high and critical risk issues, and provide resolution solutions designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact.

  • Design new and enhance existing controls in partnership with business owners including effectiveness measures, implementation support, validation of effectiveness post-implementation, and controls evaluation based on defined triggers.

  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function.

  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for highly complex risks associated with business operations.

  • Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Issues Management and control design/implementation/assurance activities.

  • Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts and policies across risk types (regulatory, financial crimes, credit, operational, etc.) and quantify risk (financial impact to organization, risk exposure levels).

  • Strong ability to identify risk and controls and conduct root cause analysis to create remediation plans, remediation success criteria and control documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal); ability to concisely articulate complex concepts in a clear manner.

  • Experience leading engagements in a business control, audit, or compliance role with a focus on governance, reporting, issues management and/or operational risk event management.

  • Understanding of audit lifecycle and methodology.

  • Advanced analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and support results in a highly matrixed and global environment

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve goals in a dynamic and complex environment.

  • Strong project management and execution skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while delivering all commitments on time and with high quality.
