Technip Energies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Equipment Engineering team in the Boston, MA office to work on exciting Energy Transition, Circular Economy and Petrochemical projects. As a Mechanical Engineer in the equipment group, you will be responsible for the design, specification, engineering, procurement, inspection and troubleshooting of proprietary chemical process equipment.

Our Mechanical Engineer will:

• Design exchangers, columns, reactors and other pressure vessels for various chemical processes in accordance with industry codes and standards.
• Specify and select specialized compressors, pumps, filters and solids handling equipment.
• Perform pressure design, structural and thermal stress calculations for engineered equipment.
• Perform FEA and CFD for various engineered chemical process equipment.
• Prepare equipment drawings, specifications and bid documents.
• Assist with the procurement of critical equipment and work closely with vendors through fabrication, inspection and installation.
• Occasional travel to field sites and provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning and startup
• Support other mechanical engineering roles such as piping and plant layout, fired heater design and drafting.

Qualifications:

• BS Mechanical Engineering or higher degree.
• 0-5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred, candidates with more experience may be considered.
• Must possess and demonstrate strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Skilled in 2D and 3D design in AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.
• EIT/PE license or willingness to obtain.
• Familiar with or willingness to be taught engineering to applicable codes and standards, such as ASME BPVC, B31.3, TEMA, ASTM, API, MSS, and NACE.
• Experience or past exposure to commercially available finite element analysis, FEA, and/or computational fluid dynamics, CFD, software is a plus.
