Position Summary
The Funding Management Analyst is responsible for the management of front store merchandising vendor funding activities and analysis, as well as analytical support for the category P&L. The role will also be responsible for adhoc analytical support to generate and interpret financial and business specific analysis as well as creating forecasts and communicating variances to business owners and managers. The analyst will use analysis of supplier allowance funding trends and forecasts to identify risks and opportunities which may impact category profitability.
- Support Category Management by providing and interpreting various financial and business specific analysis and forecasts, with a specific focus on Supplier Allowances and identifying opportunities to improve and optimize category profitability.
- Develop analytical materials and prepare material and presentations in a way that can be easily understood by others who may not have the same background or expertise. Articulate conclusions and recommendations to the leadership team and category management.
- Process all vendor funding for assigned categories, including value calculations, billing execution, ongoing vendor support and performance reporting. Assist in the development of annual forecasts and budgets for vendor funding, working with the leadership team and category management.
- Ensure funding collection is performed in compliance with all required regulations and support audits requests from internal and external auditors. Enhance and enforce documentation, archiving, and audit processes for agreements with vendors.
- Engage cross-functionally across the organization to drive results and resolve issues encountered by the team including the ability to assess and course-correct as necessary. Partner closely with business partners to break down questions, design analysis and determine required actions to solve problems.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in merchandising and/or finance with an understanding of retail merchandising basics
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Intense interest in learning new things and intellectual curiosity
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate to management & key stakeholders with poise and credibility
- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to develop effective working relationships
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work priorities as directed by supervisor or manager

Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising and/or finance with an understanding of retail merchandising basics
- 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with retail merchandising processes, financial reporting and accounting principles
- Proven ability to think creatively, work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
- Software: Experience using Access and/or SQL (or similar query language) to access large datasets in a relational database
- Masters
Education
BA or BS degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics and/or other quantitative analytical degree required.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $112,200.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
