Maintains the School campus buildings in optimal condition by utilizing equipment and tools. Performs preventive building inspections, maintenance and repairs of structures, grounds and common areas, to include machines, equipment, mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.
Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
- Related experience of 2 or more years is required in general building maintenance.
- Experience with common tools.

- Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work to include but not limited to chemical hazard communication and MSDSs training, hearing protection, lifting techniques, blood borne pathogens training, risk management, safety incident reporting procedures, fire safety and prevention, emergency/evacuation procedures and other safety guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
- Significant walking or other means of mobility.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, climb ladders, crawl, frequently lift to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move 60 pounds.
- Ability to operate golf carts and other vehicles necessary to perform duties
- Ability to operate machinery and powered tools
Working Conditions
- Mainly indoor building maintenance activities and events. However, may also participate in groundskeeping duties which is in an outdoor setting – with weather variations, including extreme heat.
- Occasionally may require a varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as the School requires.
