This role is ideal for a cloud security professional who thrives in highly regulated DoD environments and enjoys shaping secure cloud architectures from design through deployment.
As the Cybersecurity Cloud SME, you will play a key role in ensuring cloud-hosted systems are securely designed, compliant, and resilient against evolving threats—while guiding teams through the ATO process and strengthening overall cloud security posture.

As the Cybersecurity Cloud SME, you will play a key role in ensuring cloud-hosted systems are securely designed, compliant, and resilient against evolving threats—while guiding teams through the ATO process and strengthening overall cloud security posture.
Location: RemoteKey Responsibilities
- Architect and review secure cloud solutions in alignment with DoD cybersecurity requirements
- Evaluate existing cloud security policies and recommend enhancements across:
- Protection
- Detection
- Continuous monitoring
- Incident response
- Apply current cloud security engineering best practices and stay ahead of emerging cloud-based threats
- Provide cybersecurity guidance through system design, deployment, and accreditation
- Ensure all cloud solutions comply with applicable DoD and federal cybersecurity standards
- Provide technical leadership to teams conducting cybersecurity vulnerability assessments in cloud environments
- Support and advise on Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts for cloud-hosted systems
- Top Secret clearance (IT-I eligibility required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience achieving ATOs in a cloud environment (OCI, AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting ATOs for compartmented DoD IT systems
- Active cloud certification (OCI, AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Extensive knowledge of FedRAMP assessment methodology
- Hands-on experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
