Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled benefits professional to enhance our team, ensuring seamless benefits administration and an exceptional employee experience. This role is responsible for overseeing benefit programs, including health, retirement, and wellness plans, while ensuring compliance with ERISA, DOL, HIPAA and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a large, fast-paced corporation, serve as a key liaison between HR, vendors, and employees, and drive process improvements to optimize benefit offerings.
Your role in our mission
- Coordinates and administers employee benefit programs such as health, dental, group life, disability, etc. Counsels and advises employees on plan options, policy features, eligibility and other matters related to benefits to ensure employees can make informed decisions with regard to their benefit packages.
- Maintains up-to-date benefit description booklets and prepares timely employee communications on changes, additions or deletions to current benefit plans to ensure employees have current information. Reviews communication materials with management and legal counsel prior to distribution to ensure information is accurate and in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Acts as liaison between employees and insurance companies to provide benefits information. Researches questions, discusses and resolves problems such as but not limited to eligibility matters, contested benefits, and service problems.
- Analyzes and evaluates various benefits options to identify the most appropriate cost effective and competitive programs for the organization including the design, selection and implementation of new programs and/or improvements to existing programs. Prepares cost benefit statements. Makes recommendations as appropriate.
- Prepares benefits reports, programs and proposals and presents to management.
- Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing benefits administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Additionally, this role will support open enrollment, conduct benefits audits, assist with compliance reporting, and develop communication materials to enhance employee engagement.
- Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, industrial relations, liberal arts or related field preferred
- Six (6) or more years of employee benefits experience required
- Experience working with benefit and human resources administration principles, practices and procedures
- Experience and ability to understand and apply federal, state and local changes to and/or new regulations/laws pertaining to human resources
- Requires an understanding of leave of absence policies, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation, to support employee inquiries and collaborate with HR partners on complex cases.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required.
