The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part Time Student for JD ISG located in Fargo, ND you will:

 

  • Develop advanced power electronic and electric drive controls solutions at both component and system levels for a broad range of applications
  • Evaluate control design and component performance through analysis, simulation, hardware-in-the loop testing, and/or lab testing.  
  • Develop simulation models of control features, power electronic components, and/or power electronic systems to support feature development and vehicle performance assessment

 

This position is available to students on immigration visas

 

What Skills You Need

 

  • Must be pursuing a graduate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related engineering field. Prefer degree with focus on power electronics or controls related area.
  • Theoretical knowledge of power electronics or control systems
  • Experience with simulation, analysis, and/or design of power electronics or control systems 
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Required to relocate to Fargo, ND for summer semester

 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Hands on experience with power electronics, electric machines, and/or control algorithm development 
  • Experience with power electronics hardware design
  • Knowledge of electric machines and electric machine control techniques
  • Experience with hybrid and/or full electric vehicle applications
  • Experience with Hardware-In-the-Loop systems
