Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality assurance program of the RHC while ensuring that the clinic meets regulatory standards, maintains patient safety, and works to improve the quality of care through data analysis, training, and auditing. The QA Coordinator will work closely with the Operations manager to develop and implement processes, policies, and performance improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, encouraging team members to suggest improvements and actively participate in improvement efforts to enhance the success of the RHC. 
  • Works closely with all staff members as required, is flexible to meet the needs of the department and changes in the workload. Consults with other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.  
  • Plans and initiates process improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Perform regular audits of clinical and operational processes to ensure adherence to established protocols and policies.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify areas for improvement based on audit results, patient feedback, and performance data.
  • Assists in chart audits as needed and report all audit findings to the Operations Manager. 
  • Assists Operations Manager in policy/protocol development, review, and implementation.
  • Documents work processes appropriately 
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Participates in trainings as needed for all regulatory and necessary updates.
  • Ensures that data collection is reportable and free from error.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Acts as a resource and backup for Occupational Medicine Coordinator.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent two (2) years’ work in a related field.

Skills/Competencies

  • Excellent research skills, written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare documentation standards. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology 
  • Must be self-directed and able to work with little supervision while mainlining high levels of quality, production and customer service. 
  • Demonstrates effective communication and human relation skills which promote harmony and teamwork.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards
  • Proficient computer skills. 


Physical Requirements

Perceive the nature of sounds by the ear, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes, extend arms and hands in any direction, seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands, pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers, perceive such attributes of objects or materials as size, shape, temperature, or texture; and stoop, kneel crouch, and crawl. Must be able to lift 25 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, carrying pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Continuous walking and standing. Must be able to identify, match, and distinguish colors.
