Job Duties

The position directs the operations of a comprehensive food service program for Academy for Staff Development’s Central Campus. This position manages the kitchen inmates in food preparation and food service facility sanitation to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, security regulations, and all applicable policies and procedures. This position will work closely with the Supervisors to ensure all staff meals are presentable and nutritious keeping with ServSafe and state regulations. This position will monitor all equipment and tools within the kitchen /dining area to maintain custody and accountability. The position will keep a running inventory of all supplies, food and otherwise while ensuring rotation of stock and reorder. This position will be responsible for keeping records for food cost and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of food service management, sanitation practices and procedures. Demonstrated ability to plan and prepare nutritious meals. Ability to work with and supervise staff and inmates. Ability to function is a high-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to include outlook.

Additional Considerations

Advance Knowledge Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, cost controls and operating and repairing food service equipment.
