This position is based in San Antonio, TX.

What you'll do:

Join our passionate team to help shape the future of USAA's digital products ranging from the mobile app to chat bot technologies. We are looking for driven and enthusiastic team members who are passionate about making an impact on the military community through the USAA mission. Our Digital Technical Product Management Interns, work under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members, including the following tasks:

  • Empathize with and deeply understand the unique needs of end-users to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
  • Translate business goals and end-user needs into a clear product vision, communicating direction and priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refine the product backlog based on findings.
  • Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
  • Ensure that product directions balance user needs and business goals of driving new products, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Work with design partners to formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth delivery and execution of product plans.

What you need to have:

To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2025 internship will start on May 28, 2025 and last through August 8, 2025.

  • Graduation date cannot be prior to August 8, 2025
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for user-centric product design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on new challenges.

What sets you apart:

  • Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Graduation date between August 2025 and July 2026.
  • Previous internships or project experience in coding languages
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • First-hand knowledge of the military community

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual hourly rate for this role may vary by location. The range for this position is: $23 - $34.

Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.
