Kapton® Maintenance Area Leader

The E&I business is seeking an Area Leader at our Circleville, Ohio site responsible and accountable for all aspects of performance related to the Kapton® Maintenance Team.  Kapton® is a dielectric film used a wide variety of industrial, military and consumer electronic applications. The Kapton® manufacturing facility in Circleville, Ohio is a multi-area unit including Chemical, Solvent Recovery, Casting, and Films Processing operations.  This Area Leader role has leadership responsibilities for an organization of about 40 people including first line leaders, maintenance planners, general mechanics, and control mechanics.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides felt leadership on core values performance for the area, including ensuring regulatory compliance, and compliance with area/site safety rules and policies. 

  • Work with operations team to drive continuous improvement in key metrics such as EHS performance, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, yield, cost, and quality through the use of OpEx elements.

  • Drive maintenance work management process continuous improvement.

  • Develop and lead the area maintenance strategy.

  • Provides leadership and daily prioritization for the team including execution of the planned schedule.

  • Works with production areas to drive PM compliance.

  • Participate in and lead RCFA investigations  

  • Evaluate training and staffing needs on an ongoing basis to ensure appropriate, qualified resourcing that meets business needs.

  • Manage performance, coach, and develop direct reports and cultivates atmosphere of engagement and learning and development in the maintenance team.

  • Plan for and oversee execution of asset repairs, modifications, installations, and improvements on time and within budget.

  • Establish strategic and tactical priorities by partnering with operations, finance, supply chain, safety, engineering and other organizations.

  • Continue the transition of the team towards a much higher focus on predictive/preventive maintenance and digital connectivity.

  • Actively manage cost to deliver reductions and increased efficiency.

  • Establish and track annual team performance KPIs that drive delivery of business objectives.

Qualifications:

Must have knowledge or skills in the following areas:

  • 5+ years of maintenance and/or reliability experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science or Equivalent

  • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process) experience required

  • Leading work teams in alignment with Dupont core values.

  • Strong understanding and commitment around operations discipline and PSM.

  • Experience in coaching and developing others

  • Strength in building effective teams and collaboration

  • Ability to function at both tactical and strategic levels    

  • Effective communication skills

  • Personnel computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project, and SAP

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in building higher performing empowered work teams

  • Experience in cost/budget
