The Opportunity:
We are hiring our first dedicated IT leader to build, own, and scale our internal technology environment from the ground up. This is a foundational role responsible for everything from day-to-day IT operations to long-term security, systems strategy, and policy development.
You will design and implement the systems, processes, and safeguards that keep our team productive, secure, and compliant. If you thrive in building from scratch, enjoy wearing multiple hats, and can balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking, this role is for you.
What You’ll Own:
IT Operations & Support
- Manage all employee devices (Mac and Windows) across the organization
- Oversee device lifecycle (procurement, provisioning, maintenance, decommissioning) in partnership with our PEO provider
- Administer and optimize our existing MDM solution provided through our PEO
- Provide hands-on IT support and troubleshooting across the organization
- Ensure consistent device standards, security configurations, and compliance across all endpoints
- Monitor IT vendor and software spend, track billing for IT services, and identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization
Identity & Access Management
- Own system access across all tools and platforms
- Design and maintain onboarding and offboarding processes for IT and system access
- Ensure least-privilege access and proper role-based permissions
- Monitor and manage access to API keys, credentials, and sensitive integrations, including auditing usage and enforcing secure practices
Cybersecurity, AI Governance & Risk Management
- Lead company-wide cybersecurity initiatives and training programs
- Implement and manage security tools (e.g., endpoint protection, MFA, SSO)
- Identify risks and proactively strengthen our security posture
- Establish safeguards and governance around the company’s use of AI tools and platforms to ensure secure, responsible, and compliant usage
- Partner with teams to evaluate emerging AI workflows, tools, and automations for security, privacy, and operational risk
Systems & Infrastructure
- Own and administer our Google Workspace environment (user management, security settings, configurations)
- Evaluate, implement, and manage additional IT systems and tools as we scale
- Own vendor relationships for IT-related services (including our PEO for device/MDM)
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and cost-effective
Data Protection & Business Continuity
- Establish and maintain data backup and recovery processes
- Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Policies, Compliance & Documentation
- Build and maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures from scratch
- Ensure alignment with security best practices and any relevant compliance requirements
- Create clear documentation for systems, processes, and internal use
You’re a Fit If…
- You have an Associate Google Workspace Administrator certification
- Have experience owning or heavily contributing to IT in a startup or high-growth environment
- Are comfortable being a team of one and making decisions independently
- Can move between strategy and hands-on execution with ease
- Have strong experience with device management, identity/access management, and SaaS ecosystems
- Understand cybersecurity fundamentals and have implemented security practices in real environments
