Staff Full Stack Engineer

The Role:

We’re looking for an energized Software Engineer to join our Cloud Platform team. Our platform team’s goal is to simplify connected vehicle security. We’re working on this by building out a set of APIs to ingest and fan out vehicle security data to external customers. We are also responsible for supplying video and event metadata to internal machine learning and analysis teams. We’re a small team, and the scope of what new team members get to do is broad with many opportunities to learn new things.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with other internal teams and skill sets to holistically develop security products
• Shape and influence the growth of the Canopy Engineering team
• Guide other engineers
• Work closely with the Principle Engineer and other cloud Staff Engineers in making key architecture decisions to support the first generation of Canopy devices
• Be involved Write extensible, well-tested code using TDD

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on microservices
• 5+ years of experience with a cloud provider, especially AWS
• 3+ years experience with Node/Typescript
• Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and versioning APIs
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous systems
• An excitement and willingness to both learn and share with others. Someone who approaches problems with resilience and curiosity would be well-suited for this position
• Empathy for users of our software and teammates you work with
• Experience with several core AWS services, especially: Kinesis Video, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, APIGateway, SQS, SNS and CDK
