Summary of the role

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) domain is a significant and core part of the effectiveness of a global listed company's strategy to identify risks emerging across the worldwide footprint, and to develop the controls and management framework in line with latest industry requirements and best practices to be able to measure such risks, to design appropriate controls, to monitor the evolution of such risks and drive mitigation actions.

Amadeus is on the cusp of dramatically pushing risk thinking deep into the organisation, through the development of a Risk Appetite framework, set against a backdrop of dynamic industry changes and trends towards increased Board attention to risk management. Conceiving and adapting our global operations in line with a Risk Appetite methodology will guide leaders, from the top to the grassroots, in their decision making and facilitate transparency and accountability.

The candidate for this role needs to have very good grasp of choices and best practices in developing our ERM approach, have a high level technical understanding to drive deep and rational development of our Corporate Risk Catalogue (including migration to our ERM platform), of appropriate Key Risk Indicators across all domains (Finance, Reputation, Operational, ESG, Compliance) and be passionate about producing high quality reporting for consumption by Amadeus business leaders.

The candidate will need to be a natural change champion, embrace change and improvements, and thrive in a team of very different skillsets, to accomplish the delivery of a clear plan. The candidate will also be in charge of running the Risk Acceptance process, and field day-to-day questions and interactions with the wider organisation on our ERM approach, status, and assessments on escalated risks.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Management

• Expertly develop and maintain the Corporate Risk Map, collaborating with senior leaders and presenting findings to the Board.

• Drive the migration of ERM controls to the FUSION Platform for global connectivity and streamlined processes.

Digitalization, Automation, and Operational Efficiency

• Operationalize risk management processes through automation, leveraging technology, and enhancing transparency via the Risk Portal.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective risk management operations.

Risk Culture

• Design awareness campaigns and conduct training sessions for stakeholders and risk experts to foster a strong risk-aware culture.

• Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing operational risk management.

Engagement with Working Groups

• Liaise with various departments to align ERM frameworks, produce KPIs, and ensure cohesive risk management strategies.

• Act as a liaison for external professional support when required for ERM projects.

Guidance and Escalations:

• Support the preparation and resolution of high-risk scenarios within the ERM framework, ensuring fair treatment and transparency.

• Gather and analyze data for reporting purposes and propose solutions for escalated issues.

The ideal candidate

• University Degree, industry certifications for ERM / risk management.

• A minimum of 12 years’ experience, including commercial, finance or legal career.

• Minimum 4 years ERM involvement, leading the area in a company ideally in the travel, transport or technology field.

• Deep understanding of ERM fundamentals, techniques and related process requirements and standards, with membership in appropriate networks (e.g. FERMA).

• Business level English (C1+), Spanish is considered a plus.
