Microsoft Senior VB.NET Developer

JOB SUMMARY: This position will work on building and maintaining internal Windows Desktop applications core to the company using Visual Studio 2019 with SQL Server Database backend. The Microsoft VB.NET Developer will also support our Excel and Word users with (VBA) programming updates and fixes as necessary. This position will work closely with a full-stack development team, creating applications from idea to implementation. This position requires a passion for coding, and an appreciation of collaboration!

Starting annual salary of $120,000.00. Employment offers will be dependent upon the selected candidate’s relevant qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with the HelpDesk, IT Department, Business Analysts, Finance Teams and Users to solve problems, fix and enhance internal products.
• Take an active role in understanding and enhancing our code base
• Be proactive about documentation, including, but not limited to: code comments, end-user instructions, technical specifications, development processes, etc.

Requirements

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

• You wake up every morning and your first thought is: I can’t wait to program using VB.NET!
• You recognize that almost every code project involves DATA! And YES! Your SQL skills are excellent! (Seriously, this is as meaningful as being a VB specialist for this position!)
• You’ve been criticized more times than you can count for coloring outside of the lines.
• One of your primary job goals is to be a sponge and absorb the experience and knowledge from a seasoned coder who actually knows how objected-oriented programming works in the real world.
• In your spare time you read reams of code to try to figure out what the programmer was thinking.
• When it comes to problem solving, you always have a Plan B, or C, or M…
• When presented with a new idea, the words “I can’t do that” never come to mind.
• YOU are the Microsoft Office SME in every meeting.
